# Klai

> Private AI for European teams. Open source, steward-owned, EU infrastructure. Klai gives organisations an AI workspace they fully control: hosted in Europe, code you can inspect, structured so the company cannot be sold to a competitor or pivoted away from its users.

Klai is a Dutch company building AI infrastructure that customers own and audit. Three structural commitments back this:

- **Steward-owned.** Klai is structured so it cannot be acquired or pivoted away from its purpose. The articles of association make this permanent.
- **EU infrastructure.** All data processing happens in the European Union. No CLOUD Act exposure.
- **Open source.** The platform is auditable end-to-end. Customers can read the code that runs their AI.

The product combines a private chat workspace, a knowledge base that syncs from existing tools (Notion, Google Drive, SharePoint, GitHub), and an API for building on top. Every answer carries citations to the source documents.
